Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers on Mud Lake Road, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, that power will be disconnected at 1:00 p.m. (Labrador time) on the lower section of the road due to flooding conditions in the area.

To facilitate this process, a power outage is planned for all customers on Mud Lake Road from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Power will be restored for the upper section of the road at 2:00 p.m.

Previous Advisory:

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising that power will be disconnected in Mud Lake at 11:00 a.m. (Labrador time) due to flood conditions and related safety risks in the area.

Current water levels and flooding of electrical equipment in the community pose a significant safety risk to the public. Electricity can move through water or wet flooring and cause electrical shock.

Please note that residents of Mud Lake Road will not be affected by this outage at this time.

Hydro is monitoring the situation and is working closely with Fire and Emergency Services (FES) officials. We will provide regular updates on our website, Twitter and Facebook as more information is available. Customers can also call our 24-hour customer service line at 1-888-737-1296.
